Vista Bay and Night Tour

We are staying at Drake Vista lodge which is run by Emillio and his family. It’s basically a room in his house. The downsides are I can image

hear EVERYTHING from the room next door, and if I wanted to I could peek through the wooden slats and see whoever is in there. The upsides are Emillio is wonderful, so helpful, the room is clean and spacious, the wi-Fi is excellent and breakfast is delicious. Why is it that when you pay loads to stay somewhere swanky you just keep on paying for everything yet when you pay next to nothing for a room, you get so much more for your money?

Decided to do the night tour which consisted of a man taking a group of us out to see what creepy crawlies we could find. We have done one of these before in Thailand and Steve spent the whole time obsessed with being attacked by leeches so I was quite surprised at how keen he was. Anyway we saw a few ordinary looking frogs and spiders as well as a gorgeous little red eyed tree frog. Unfortunately soon after there was an enormous thunderstorm and our guide informed us that it was very dangerous to be in the rainforest during a storm so that was that. It’s been a long time since I’ve been quite that wet. My boots were absolutely full of water. Thank goodness we took the ponchos Charlie gave us.
We squelched our way to Magaritas restaurant, had a good few beers and some hearty fodder which made our overall soddeness seem not so bad.
