The ramblings and wanderings of two middle-aged travellers up for adventure
Today we decided to try again to reach the waterfall. We told each other we wouldn’t dawdle so much or get lost. Really we should have set off a lot earlier but we’re not early risers and we do like a chat with our fellow travellers at breakfast. Our unfaithful mutts hooked up with another couple – I felt quite hurt – so we were alone. It wasn’t long however before we found some wildlife to distract us. This time it was a toucan! I hadn’t realised how much noise they make. We spent time trying to get a good picture, then we were hungry so ate some snacks on the beach. Then we met some people from vista Bay etc etc. We did actually make it to the river but we didn’t think we had enough time to get the boat across, walk up to the waterfall and get back before dark. So we retraced our steps AGAIN. The good thing was on our way back, we stumbled across a large troupe of capuchin monkeys. They had babies with them and were smashing open some coconuts. Wonderful. Maybe we’ll get to the waterfall tomorrow!
