Sun burn and night tour part 2

Today was a beautiful sunny day, so obviously some beach time was required.
My desire to eat organically and use organic products does extend to sun cream and I brought several different types with me. The first we tried made us look as though we were going to a Halloween party – White ghouls with red rimmed eyes and yellow teeth. Our vanity wouldn’t let us continue using it so we tried the second one. Smelt lovely, very moisturising and absolutely useless. After a couple of hours we decided we’d had enough sun. On the walk back, Steve pointed out I looked a little red. I looked at him and thought the same. Oh dear -several hours later I had bikini marks and not in a good way. Might not mind if it rains tomorrow.
Later in the afternoon, Emillio told us that the guide who took us out on the curtailed night tour would take us again to finish what we started and show us more frogs and bugs. Steve was feeling pretty rubbish due to his cold so wasn’t thrilled but it would have been rude to refuse. As an aside, the guide was a total ringer for Jeff Goldblum (from the appropriately named film “the Fly”) so from this moment on he will be known as Jeff.
Jeff absolutely loves the jungle at night. He was bounding through streams and leaping up muddy trails giving a running commentary all the way, while we were slipping around awkwardly, trying not to end up face down in the creek. To be fair, Jeff found some great animals including a poison dart frog, a rat that looked like a cuddly rabbit and a huge, prehistoric looking lizard.
I knewSteve was struggling when he bent over and I saw steam rising from his shirt. We tried to extricate ourselves tactfully but Jeff was not taking the hint so in the end we said we’d had enough, gave him a good tip and tried to get to a restaurant before they shut.
