I hate goodbyes, especially when it’s people you are particularly fond of who live 12000miles away and you only see them once every three years if you’re lucky.
We’ve had a great time in Noosa and it’s been a privilege sharing Ian,Kylie and Zeke’s home with them.
The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity. Paddle boarding, climbing hills, early morning swims, playing in the surf followed by evening beers and mass chocolate eating have pretty much exhausted us all but in a good way.
But all good things have to come to an end and after an emotional goodbye at Brisbane airport, (I just about held it together – you nearly broke me Ozlings!) it was off to Sydney and on to the Blue Mountains.
It was a subdued journey to Katumba. I definitely think it’s going to take a while getting used to it being just the two of us again.
We arrived at the Skyrider motel without mishap other than the loss of one of my flip flops. I had packed then in the side pocket of my rucksack and it appears one of them fell out somewhere, probably on the plane.
We wandered into Katumba and due to our mournful state we couldn’t be bothered to closely examine all the dining options open to us and ended up in the Fiddle and Harp having a very mediocre meal.
The beer was good though.
