It’s really nice being back in Sydney. It hasn’t lost its laid back yet major city feel.
This time, because we haven’t come straight here from manic Bangkok, it feels different. Less sleepy. Also, having a more equitable exchange rate helps as it doesn’t seem anywhere near as expensive as last time.
we did the Manly 10km spit walk which was really nice but wasn’t where we thought it was. We thought it circumnavigated the main surf beach but it didn’t. Not to worry, after a quick pitstop for a pie and coffee we spent an hour swimming and snoozing on Manly beach before catching the ferry back to Circular Quay.
Quick shower and a change of clothes and then it was straight on the bus to meet lovely Colette and Warren at Bondi beach.
We had a bit of time spare when we arrived so we wandered down to the beach to have a peak at one of the most iconic beaches in the world. Full of young people and looks a bit like Scarborough! Personally I prefer Manly but I’m glad I saw it.
We met Colette and Warren at Sefa kitchen which was a middle eastern style restaurant. It was so nice to see them. They are those rare people that when you meet them for the first time, it feels as though you’ve known them forever. Kindred souls.
Great meal, great company. Then it’s back in the bus and our usual slightly dodgy but fascinating walk back through Kings Cross.
