Like childbirth, the tedium of driving, bad weather and tough hikes have faded into the background, leaving only memories of sunshine, cold beer and gorgeous scenery. So today finds me and my partner in crime sitting on a ferry, with plans of driving to Metz in France, onwards to Liechtenstein, possibly into Italy with a quick visit to the Dolomites, then over to Krasnja Gora in Slovenia and back via Czech Republic, Dresden and Cologne.
I am interested in and slightly anxious of these countries’ views (if any) on our current political bunfest re leaving the EU. Nothing like hearing it from the horse’s mouth.
Apart from that, a few weeks of hiking and relaxing should be reviving. Oh, and a heatwave is on its way. That should make things interesting.
