Italy to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.

Breakfast at Sweet Days lived up to it’s name. Chocolate pear cake, jam tart, fresh watermelon and pineapple. Also freshly squeezed orange juice from a Heath Robinson style machine. A kindly Belgian man helped me with it before my fingers were shredded.

He comes to Peschiera every year and has done so for 30 years. I don’t blame him. It’s lovely.

Next stop: Kranjska Gora. The fateful trip in 2017 with road warrior buddies Jan and Nik saw us climb Triglav in Slovenia. We had also intended to spend some time in Kranjska Gora but once again horrendous weather stopped play. So now we had a second bite of the cherry.

The drive to Slovenia was painless and it was easy to find our apartment in Kranjska Gora. It’s got a washing machine and tumble dryer – hurray! I love a bit of washing on holiday.

It also had a Christmas tree. Centre stage in the room. I immediately hid it in the wardrobe.

It was a pleasant 28 degrees so we decided to have a short walk to stretch our legs. 10 miles later we returned home. We were looking for some apparently very beautiful blue pools. We couldn’t find them anywhere. Luckily there was a little refuge on the way back where we consoled ourselves with cold beers and a fantastic view.
