Playa Blanca – Lazy Days

I did my usual trick with the air conditioning (turning the temperature down instead of up)and as a result woke up freezing. The temperature is now set at a balmy 24 degrees and will stay that way until we leave.

We have settled in very well here at PB. We’ve got used to the fact that rather than a town/resort, it’s more a group of apartment blocks with few facilities. We’ve adapted food wise and have had a much more successful second attempt shopping at Super99.

Our routine is: spend the morning at the lagoon pool, lunch on the balcony followed by exploring the local beaches.

The nearest beach to us is very lovely – well groomed and empty, just how I like them!

We walked past some beautiful beach villas, all new and shiny with bifold doors and massive first floor terraces, perfect for entertaining and sea views. I want one.

Todays beach walk was along Farallon beach. Interestingly, this is hyped as the better beach. It does have a couple of nice beach bars and it’s more “real” but it’s scrubby with lots of litter and dog poop. I didn’t warm to it but after stopping for a drink which in my case was a very strong mojito I did soften my stance a bit and enjoyed the cockerel strutting around and the dog that came and sat in between us.

Our evenings are spent eating and drinking on the terrace and catching up with our reading which is a joy. Happy days.
