Not a great night sleep wise. We have a fabulous view out to sea and I wouldn’t change it, but the downside is we are next to the restaurant and immediately above 3 rooms and below two apartments. Nadia and Salvatore had some Italian guests staying and although they weren’t up very late, it was quite “animated “ in the restaurant. Then at around 1am the annoying youngsters from downstairs arrived home drunk and decided it was a good time to play music. Sigh. I don’t know why they came here to be honest. Party town is actually in Boca town itself. They’ve been paying a fortune in taxis to go there every night – clearly morons.
Still we are on holiday and don’t have any presentations to do or business matters to stress us so a hearty breakfast later and we were ready for the day. The weather forecast said it was going to be a perfect day but there was absolutely no way we were going to believe that. However when Salvatore said it was going to be a good day, our spirits lifted.
No faffing this time (well only a little bit) , bags were packed and sun cream was applied in record time.
Once bitten, twice shy as far as wearing trainers were concerned. Flip flops/crocs for us this time although mainly because our trainers were still sopping from yesterday. The puddles along the way were quite deep but most of the time we could work round them.
What a day! Clear blue sky and a turquoise sea with ice blue waves topped with a foamy crest. Magical.
On our jungle trek we saw sloths, howler monkeys, a toucan and all manner of other birds, flitting in and out of the trees.
The only slight negative were the quad bikes racing along the trail. There is a locked gate to the trail which is supposed to stop motorbikes and quad bikes but somehow they have found a way round. The howler monkeys hate it and shout after them but the bikers aren’t even aware of them or even seem interested in the wildlife.
Apart from this we had a great day made even better by another delicious (late) lunch at The View followed by a swim in the ocean.
Our time here seems to have gone in a flash. Tomorrow we catch the ferry and drive to Las Lajas where we stay for 2 nights, on our way to Anton Valley.
