Gran Canaria – Big island of Dogs

Doesn’t sound that inviting does it? Unless you are a dog fanatic in which case it probably sounds like heaven. Apparently the “dogs” may have been monk seals, seen by Arab traders hundreds of years ago but who knows? Gran Canaria, home to massive sand dunes, rugged scenery and the great British fry up, here we come.

What’s our obsession with the Canary Islands  you ask. You may well ask. More needs must is the answer. We want to get away somewhere warm, neither of us like “doing nothing” (although I am much keener on lounging about than S) and  long  haul isn’t fitting in to the schedule atm so here we are, hoping for some sun and nice walks. Plus we had a nice time Tenerife in 2024 so we are optimistic.

So far, so ok. I have already managed to leave my handbag in the car and just managed to grab it before the valet parking guy drove off with it. Hopefully not a portentous sign.
