Google said our drive to PPS was going to be around 2.5 hours so we decided to stop off at Hubra Skala where there are some interesting rock formations.
It was a warm day and combined with the holiday weekend , HS was somewhat busy. Nice to see families out and about though.
The rocks are really interesting and were only discovered in the 1920’s. It was a nice walk too, through shady, leafy woods.
When we got back to the car, the little restaurants were mobbed so it was peanuts and biscuits for lunch – typical travel day fodder. Luckily after checking in to our apartment at PPS, and after trogging around the whole of the resort, we had a hearty meal of goulash and dumplings in the restaurant opposite us. (Murphy’s law in action).
The apartment is very stylish and modern. Fabulous value at £60 a night. However, the bedroom has a long window with no curtains.
I’m pretty certain I’m a latent vampire as I cannot stand even a chink of light at night when I’m trying to sleep. Even the standby lights on televisions drive me mad. I do have an eye mask but just knowing it’s not dark is enough to keep me awake.
Luckily there is another bed in the living room but as I settled down on that, I realised that there were lights on the balcony shining into the living room. I hunted high and low for the damn switch to turn them off but there wasn’t one. I then spent ages arranging the bedspread over and around the curtains to keep the light to a minimum. I was quite worn out by the time I finished which is probably why I slept like a log.
