Arriving in Corcovado

i Up early to drive to Sierpe. Easy drive and after putting car into the secure parking lot, hung around waiting for Alex the captain to sail us to Drakes Bay. Beautiful sunny day and the river looked calm and languid.
Alex the captain looked worryingly like Jack Sparrow. He crammed the small speed boat full, children and a couple of elderly looking people included. He then proceeded to drive the boat at break neck speed down the river, banking round corners like Barry Sheene. It was actually quite fun until we reached the point where the river met the sea. We smacked into the waves so hard my jaw was clacking together. Ahead of us were rocky outcrops that we were aiming straight towards. It was terrifying, I couldn’t look. We were racing towards them as if Jack was some crazy Costa Rican suicide bomber. I looked round and saw an old lady trying to drink some Bachs Flower remedy. At the last moment Jack veered away from the rocks and we were out of the swell. Phew! Annoyingly Steve was laughing. I hoped he’d be attacked by leeches in the jungle as he doesn’t find THAT funny.
After an undignified struggle with luggage and trying to get out of the boat without falling into the sea, we had at last arrived at Drakes Bay.
