How can we tear ourselves away from our babies for a whole month?
Babies include not just our delightful grandsons but our whole family group – boys and girls – to whom we feel inextricably linked. Is it nature that makes us feel this way? Like chimps living in a big family circle. Whatever it is, logic says don’t be silly and get back out ; there’s a world out there. I expect our sons are saying the same to us too…
Why Australia and Vietnam again?
Well, Oz in order to catch up with our Australian family and Vietnam because although we’ve been to Southern Vietnam, we haven’t seen Hanoi and the surrounding areas and we thought it was about time we did. Plus we got an amazing deal with Vietnam Airlines and it makes a great stopover on the way back and forth to/ from Oz.
It’s becoming a bit of a trend being tardy with our packing so true to form, yesterday was quite full on. Think we’ve got everything but our bags are worryingly light – I’ll probably find I’ve forgotten my wash bag or some such thing.
I hadn’t really thought about checking in advance what S was going to wear on the flight but I should have as we keep wearing similar outfits to travel in. This time it was black trousers and zip up jacket with a grey t shirt underneath. Looking like mini me is not a look I wish to rock so I had a quick panic trying to find something to distinguish myself from Steve. A flowery blouse proved just the thing – must remember to make that my go to travel top.
Everything else went swimmingly and S is overjoyed with the legroom in premium economy. I actually can’t reach the footrest.
It’s a long flight to Ho Chi Minh – 12 hours -so it’s time to hunker down and enjoy the ride.
